I am Jeremie, 28 years old. This is my blog on Data Wrangling, Data Science, Collective Intelligence, Predictive Modeling. I have a Master of Science in Electrical Engineering from the Ecole Polytechnique. I love French ‘patisseries’ (especially the ‘mille-feuilles’), watching TV shows entire seasons in one go, reading engineering blogs and going to modern art exhibitions.
Predicting the Oscar winners has always been the favorite game of journalists and gamblers of all kinds, as the annual Academy Awards approaches. However, it can be very complex for several reasons. Beautiful Soup is an excellent library for parsing a web page and building a structured representation. It allows you to access any element of the DOM by type, ID, class or any tag properties.
I use it a lot on my Data Science projects, as it allows me to create datasets from any websites. It is a tool that every good data scientist needs to know.
